      Gr 5-8-These series titles set up key events in chronological order. Relevant (though not overly enticing) photographs and illustrations are scattered throughout, adding to the educational value of the books. The authors' points of view in both volumes are unbiased. Extensive back matter is provided. While it is unlikely that these books would be used except for research, students will find the information provided concise, well written, and understandable.
